AFTER: End Tables

I had you guys take a poll recently on what to do with the end tables I was given. The two winning votes were (1)paint them a bold color and (2)paint them to resemble flowers. I am not an artist and the flower idea turned out to be a daunting task so I compromised.

I went with a bold red from Sherwin Williams that was labled Bay Red. I got this paint for about 1 dollar a gallon at Habitat for Humanity and I actually like the color. Then I hand painted a repeating graphic of abstract trees onto the surface.

I am going to need a little help from the audience to get these beasts tamed. A friend of mine gave me these because he did not have time to fix them up. I am really excited about their potential. What should I do? I looked them up and they were made by Tell City Chair Company.

A. Paint them to look like flowers with the drop leaves as the petals.

B. Decoupage a cool paper onto the top and drop leaves. Maybe an old movie poster.

C. Paint a bold but solid color.

D. Other…can you come up with something else? Let me know!
